Eddie Johnson Nets Hat Trick

In a wild game that saw seven goals between the two teams, the Kansas City Wizards defeated the New England Revolution 4-3.

In celebration of being named to the Gold Cup roster, forward Eddie Johnson scored three times, including the game winner in the 82nd minute. Johnson now has six goals on the season, one less than Taylor Twellman, who notched his seventh in the 23rd minute.

The Wizards went down two goals in the first 23 minutes, but erased the deficit thanks to a Davy Arnaud goal and two from Eddie Johnson before halftime. Shalrie Joseph converted a penalty kick to tie the game at three all, but EJ made sure he would be named Player of the Week by making his third goal of the game a winner.

With the win, Kansas City improves to 5-2-1 (16 points), one point behind New York and New England in the East.

New England falls to 5-2-2 (17 points), remaining tied with New York for first in the East.
