Weekend Bits

- MLS Rumors is reporting that a Philadelphia expansion announcement is forthcoming and will take place on Thursday, February 28th. The team would commence play in their own stadium for the 2010 season.

- The New England Revolution have signed Honduran left midfielder Mauricio Castro, who could join the team for traning in Bermuda once his visa is approved. He had been playing for CD Olimpia (Luciano Emilio's old club).

- Colombian defender Wilman Conde is asking to get out of his contract with the Chicago Fire so that he can join up with the New York Red Bulls and former head coach Juan Carlos Osorio.

- Speaking of those Red Bulls, Ives Galarcep reports that the club has already signed Colombian forward Oscar Echeverry.

- Benny Feilhaber is rumored to be coming to America once again, but Houston is ruling themselves out of the chase for the Derby County midfielder. Maybe San Jose or Chivas USA could be in the Irvine, CA native's future?
